Save a job as a .smartnest file (Ctrl+S) - parts, groups, nested sheets, drops and settings - and open it later to re-print job sheets, re-export or record 'Cut done' (Ctrl+O)

Separate 'Use my drops' and 'Use my stocked sheets' choices on the Nest screen - leave inventory alone for a job when you want fresh stock

Drop cut (staircase or one straight line) is now chosen on the Nest screen and can be switched after nesting - the sheets update without re-nesting

Inventory for full sheets and drops by material, thickness, size and shelf - search '14 ga cold roll' to see where it is

Every piece on a shelf gets a position number (Drop cart #17); pulling one closes up the numbers

Pick the job's material on the Nest screen - nests onto your drops first, then your sheets, then counts what to buy

Stock check and printable pull list after every nest; 'Cut done' takes used stock out of inventory

Organize shop - shelves, sheet racks, drop carts, drop racks and bins from presets, auto-organize and a put-away list

New stock and drops are placed automatically - by shelf rules, or next to the same metal

Your own material and thickness lists with '+ New' in every pick-list

Select pieces (click, Shift+click, Shift+drag) and make them a group, move them to another group, or remove them

Zoom with the mouse wheel and drag to move around on both views

Export one sheet, every sheet as its own file, or all in one file - sheet outline optional, drop cut included

Start nesting from the top, bottom, left or right - set it per machine profile under Profiles (Start nesting from) to match your shop layout. The drop ends up on the opposite side.

Edge spacing - parts keep the part spacing from the material edge by default

'Use the sheet edge as a cut' checkbox lets parts sit flush on the edge when you want it

Copy in Rhino (Ctrl+C), paste in SmartNest (Ctrl+V) - walls built from 3D panels and blocks come in as one flat piece each, in the wall's own layout

Paste from AutoCAD, BricsCAD, DraftSight, Inkscape and other programs

Named groups (Wall 1, Wall 2...) with every piece numbered, and paste more into an existing group

One nest across all groups and as many sheets as needed - every piece tagged on screen and on printable job sheets

Show one group at a time and export it (original layout or nested positions)

Extra seats can be added to Shop and Pro plans
